The best Cozey sofa depends on your preferred comfort, living space, design style and how you plan to use it. Ciello and Gaia offer plush, cloud-like seating. Atmosphere combines deep, medium-firm comfort with extensive customisation. Neptune and Orian are designed for sleeping, while Cassini offers curved, elevated design in a compact footprint.
At Cozey, we've designed different collections because comfort isn't one-size-fits-all.
Here's how they compare, including the differences worth considering before making your choice.

All six collections share several fundamental benefits: modular construction, the ability to reconfigure over time, individual components that fit through narrow doorways and staircases and removable, machine-washable seating covers.
All also offer replaceable components, although complete fabric-cover changes are available only on certain collections.
The biggest differences are comfort, seat depth, backrest support, appearance, maintenance and sleeping functionality.
Ciello & Ciello XL: The Classic Cloud-Like Sofa
Best for customers who want a plush, enveloping sofa with a relaxed cloud-couch appearance.
Ciello combines high-density foam with soft fiber fill to create a cloud-like look and sitting experience.
It can initially feel somewhat firm, but gradually becomes softer as the fabric relaxes and the fill redistributes through use.
The result is a comfortable, sink-in sofa designed for lounging.
Ciello vs. Ciello XL
Both have the same seating construction, firmness and seat height. The difference is size.
Compared with regular Ciello, Ciello XL is:
- about 7 cm wider per equivalent seat module.
- about 7 cm deeper.
- about 3 cm taller at the original backrest.
- about 7 cm taller at the high angled backrest.
Choose XL if you have a larger space or want deeper lounging. Regular Ciello offers the same comfort with a smaller footprint.
Original vs. High Angled Backrests
- Original: A squarer, more structured appearance with lower back support.
- High angled: A taller, more inclined backrest that provides a natural reclined position and additional upper-back support.
Arms match the corresponding backrest height. The high angled option therefore also has taller arms.
The choice is primarily about appearance and preferred back support.
Important: Cushion Maintenance
Ciello's loose, fiber-filled cushions require regular fluffing to maintain their shape.
We recommend every one to two weeks, depending on use, plus rotating cushions between heavily and lightly used seats when possible.
Our current Ciello includes about 4 cm of additional high-density foam beneath the loose cushions to improve support.
For a detailed explanation of foam durability and maintenance, see How Long Do Cozey Sofas Last?
Choose Ciello for cloud-like comfort and classic styling. Choose another collection if you want to avoid routine cushion fluffing.
Explore the Ciello collection and check the current configurations and dimensions.
Gaia & Gaia XL: Cloud Comfort With a More Elevated Silhouette
Best for customers who want Ciello's comfort with pronounced French seams, slimmer arms and taller back support.
Gaia and Ciello share the same underlying seat base, seat cushions and ottoman construction. Only the covers differ on these shared components.
As a result, they offer essentially the same seating comfort and firmness.
The differences are primarily aesthetic and structural around the arms and backs.
Gaia vs. Ciello
- Fabric design: Gaia features large French seams and upholstery that drapes loosely toward the bottom of the frame. Ciello has classic cloud-couch stitching and fabric secured beneath the base with Velcro.
- Slimmer arms and backs: Gaia occupies about 3.5 cm less overall depth than the corresponding Ciello because its backrest is thinner.
- Higher backrest: Gaia's arms and backs are taller, providing additional upper-back coverage.
Compared with Ciello, the Gaia backrest is:
- about 15 cm taller than Ciello's original backrest.
- about 12 cm taller than Ciello's high angled backrest.
These differences apply to the corresponding regular and XL collections. Gaia's back cushions are proportionally taller, too.
Unlike Ciello's high angled option, Gaia's backrest is not inclined.
Which Should You Choose?
Choose Gaia if you prefer French seams, a more relaxed upholstery appearance, taller upright backs or slimmer arms.
Choose Ciello if you prefer the traditional cloud-couch silhouette or an inclined high angled backrest.
Both require the same regular cushion fluffing.
Don't choose Gaia expecting a softer or firmer seat than Ciello. Their seating construction is the same.

Atmosphere: Deep, Supportive Seating With Maximum Versatility
Best for customers who want modern design, medium-firm comfort, deep seating and minimal maintenance.
Atmosphere has a structured, contemporary silhouette, but its comfort is more welcoming than its appearance might suggest.
The layered high-density foam initially allows some sink-in before providing substantial support.
It is one of our most supportive sofas, with a medium-firm feel.
Atmosphere is also deep, comparable to Ciello XL and Gaia XL. Because it doesn't use large loose back pillows, customers can add lumbar pillows for a more upright sitting position.
Square vs. Round Arms and Backs
Atmosphere offers two distinct design directions.
- Square: Clean, geometric styling with regular or high arm options, selected primarily for appearance.
- Round: A softer silhouette, with arms that are about 4.5 cm higher and about 5 cm slimmer than the square option.
The round configuration includes lumbar pillows to provide a comfortable seating angle and additional back support.
Choose between them based on your preferred aesthetic and support.
Regular, Storage and Sleeper Seats
Atmosphere is especially versatile because it offers three seat functions:
- Regular seats for everyday sitting.
- Storage seats with concealed storage.
- Sleeper seats for additional sleeping functionality.
All offer broadly comparable firmness, with minor differences resulting from their construction.
Can Atmosphere Be Used as a Bed?
Yes. A two-seater with an ottoman or a three-seater can provide a comfortable sleeping arrangement for two people.
However, Atmosphere doesn't create a standard mattress-size sleeping surface.
Its exact dimensions depend on the chosen arms, backs and modules, so there isn't one universal sofa width for these sleeping configurations.
For occasional guests, it's a flexible solution. For people who prioritize a standard double (full) or queen bed, Neptune or Orian may be better.
Does Atmosphere Require Maintenance?
Its layered-foam seating maintains its shape and rebounds quickly after use, so regular cushion fluffing isn't required.
Choose Atmosphere for modern, deep, supportive seating, extensive customisation and low maintenance.

Neptune: The Firm Sofa-Bed With the Highest Back Support
Best for customers who want firm seating, a functional sofa-bed, tall back support and storage in every seat.
Neptune was designed primarily as a sofa-bed. Its seat and back cushions form part of the sleeping surface, which is why the construction is firmer than our cloud-like collections.
The lumbar pillows are separate and aren't part of the bed.
Neptune also has one of the shallowest seat depths in our lineup, although it remains relatively deep compared with many conventional sofas.
This helps create a more upright sitting experience.
What Size Bed Does Neptune Create?
A three-seater Neptune measuring about 228 cm wide converts into a double (full) bed.
It's particularly practical for customers who need both seating and overnight sleeping functionality.
Our Highest Backrest
Neptune has the highest backrest of any Cozey sofa.
Optional individual headrest modules provide additional neck and upper-back support.
This makes Neptune especially attractive to customers who find low-profile sofas uncomfortable.
Storage in Every Seat
Every Neptune seat includes built-in storage, making it convenient for bedding, pillows and blankets.
Unlike Orian, customers don't need to choose separate storage seats.
Covers and Maintenance
Neptune's foam seating requires minimal cushion maintenance.
Its seat and back cushion covers are removable and machine-washable, but the arm and base upholstery is fixed.
Because these covers cannot be removed, Neptune doesn't support a complete fabric-colour change.
Choose Neptune if back support, firm comfort, storage and sofa-bed functionality are your priorities.
Explore the Neptune collection and check the current configurations and dimensions.
Orian: A Compact Sofa That Converts Into a Queen Bed
Best for customers who want a large sleeping surface from a smaller sofa footprint, with modern styling and deeper seating.
Orian is another dedicated sofa-bed, but its biggest advantage is space efficiency.
A two-seater Sofa Becomes a Queen-Size Bed
An Orian two-seater measuring about 185 cm wide converts into a queen-size bed.
By comparison, Neptune requires a three-seater about 228 cm wide to create a double (full) bed.
This means Orian offers a larger standard sleeping surface from a sofa about 43 cm narrower.
That's a meaningful difference for apartments, guest rooms and multifunctional spaces.
Remember that the bed's extended footprint also needs to fit the room.
How Does Orian Feel Compared With Neptune?
Both have similarly firm seats, but Orian is deeper and lower.
Its back pillows are also softer, using fiber fill similar to Ciello and Gaia.
This gives Orian a more relaxed lounging experience, while Neptune emphasizes firmer, taller back support.
Orian's fiber-filled back pillows benefit from occasional fluffing, even though its foam seat is low maintenance.
Storage and Back Support
Unlike Neptune, Orian's sleeper seats do not include storage. Storage is available through dedicated storage modules.
Orian also has a lower backrest and doesn't offer additional headrest modules.
Covers
Seat and back covers are removable and machine-washable, while arm and base upholstery is fixed.
Full fabric-colour changes therefore aren't available.
Choose Orian if you want the most space-efficient standard queen-size sleeper among these configurations, deeper seating and a softer backrest.
Explore the Orian collection and check the current configurations and dimensions.
Cassini: Curved, Elevated Design in a Smaller Footprint
Best for customers who prioritize modern aesthetics, compact proportions and unusual modular configurations.
Cassini is our first curved sofa collection.
It combines a sculptural silhouette with layered-foam seating similar to Atmosphere.
Both offer a medium-firm feeling with initial softness followed by support.
Cassini vs. Atmosphere
Cassini has:
- More rounded, curved styling.
- Smaller dimensions in width and depth.
- A slightly lower seat height.
- A slightly lower backrest.
- A seat inclined toward the back for added comfort.
These proportions make Cassini attractive for smaller spaces where Atmosphere might feel too large.
Unique 45-Degree Modules
Cassini is the only Cozey collection offering a wedge module that allows 45-degree configurations.
This enables curved and angled layouts beyond traditional straight or 90-degree sectionals.
Maintenance and Covers
Like Atmosphere, Cassini's layered foam maintains its shape without regular fluffing.
Its upholstery covers can be removed, machine-washed and replaced, allowing customers to refresh or change their sofa's fabric.
Choose Cassini for elevated curved design, smaller dimensions, versatile layouts and low-maintenance comfort. Choose Atmosphere if you prefer deeper seating, taller proportions or a wider selection of functional modules.
Explore the Cassini collection and check the current configurations and dimensions.
Which Cozey Sofa Is Best for Sleeping?
Three collections offer sleeping functionality, but they serve different needs.
| Feature | Orian | Neptune | Atmosphere |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sleeping surface | Queen-size | Double (full) | Non-standard dimensions |
| Configuration | 2-seater+ | 3-seater+ | 2-seater + ottoman or 3-seater+ |
| Sofa width | about 185 cm | about 228 cm | Varies by configuration |
| Seat firmness | Firm | Firm | Medium-firm |
| Back support | Softer fiber-filled pillows | Tallest backrest, optional headrests | Supportive foam |
| Storage | Dedicated storage seats | Every seat | Optional storage seats |
| Best advantage | Compact queen sleeper | Back support and storage | Flexible occasional sleeping |
Orian is our recommendation for customers who want a standard queen-size bed with minimal sofa width.
Neptune is particularly suitable for customers prioritizing taller back support, firm seating and built-in storage.
Atmosphere is ideal when everyday lounging and configuration flexibility matter more than standard bed dimensions.
