We may collect identity and contact information; order and transaction information; payment information; account and profile information; communications and support information; technical and usage information; marketing and advertising information; and information from third parties. We do not knowingly collect sensitive information, as defined under Australian privacy law, unless it is reasonably necessary, lawful, and you have provided consent where required.
We may collect personal information directly from you, automatically through website and digital tools such as cookies, pixels, SDKs and logs, and from third parties such as ecommerce providers, payment processors, shipping partners, analytics providers, fraud providers, customer service platforms, email and SMS service providers, hosting and cloud infrastructure providers, marketing partners and social platforms. If we receive unsolicited personal information that we do not need, we may delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to provide products and services; process orders, payments, shipping, returns, exchanges, warranties and refunds; manage accounts; communicate about orders and service matters; deliver customer support; arrange consultations and swatch requests; personalise website content; conduct analytics, research and improvement; prevent fraud and security incidents; comply with legal obligations; enforce terms; and send marketing where permitted by law and consistent with user preferences. We will generally only use or disclose personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, for related purposes an individual would reasonably expect, with consent, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
We may send direct marketing communications by email, SMS, phone, mail, social media or other channels where permitted by law. If we rely on personal information for direct marketing, we will provide a simple way for individuals to opt out, and we will give effect to the request within a reasonable period and free of charge. If required by Australian law, we will only send marketing with consent or where another lawful basis applies. If asked, we will also tell the individual the source of their personal information used for direct marketing unless impracticable or unreasonable.
We use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, SDKs and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, keep the cart functioning, perform analytics, improve performance, prevent fraud, personalise content, and support advertising and remarketing. Some of these technologies may collect personal information or online identifiers and may involve third-party providers. Depending on location and tools used, users may be able to manage cookie preferences through a cookie banner or browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.
We may disclose personal information to affiliates and related companies; ecommerce, hosting and IT providers; payment processors and fraud prevention providers; shipping and logistics providers; customer support, communications and CRM providers; analytics, advertising and marketing technology providers; professional advisers; authorities where required by law; and actual or prospective investors or buyers in a transaction. We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of selling customer lists for money.
Cozey is based in North America and uses service providers in multiple jurisdictions. Personal information may be stored in or accessed from countries outside Australia, including Canada, the United States and other countries where affiliates, vendors or service providers operate. Where Australian privacy law applies, Cozey will take reasonable steps in the circumstances to ensure overseas recipients handle the information consistently with applicable privacy requirements.
We take reasonable steps, including technical and organisational measures, to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures may include access controls, encryption in transit, network protections, vendor due diligence, authentication controls, monitoring, and data minimisation. We also take reasonable steps to ensure personal information we use or disclose is accurate, up to date, complete and relevant. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in the policy, including to provide services, comply with legal, tax, accounting and recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect business interests. When personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it unless required by law to retain it.
If Australian privacy law applies, individuals may request access to personal information Cozey holds about them and ask Cozey to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Cozey may need to verify identity before processing the request and will respond within a reasonable period. In some circumstances permitted by law, Cozey may refuse access or correction and will explain why, subject to legal restrictions.
If you have a complaint about how personal information has been handled, please contact the Privacy Officer first and provide enough detail for investigation. Cozey will acknowledge the complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days. If the person is not satisfied and Australian privacy law applies, they may be able to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
If Australian privacy law applies and Cozey becomes aware of an eligible data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, Cozey will take steps required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including assessing the incident and notifying affected individuals and the OAIC where required.
The website and services are not directed to children, and Cozey does not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authority where required by law.
The website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy. Users should review those policies before providing personal information.
Cozey may update the Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its business, technology, legal requirements or privacy practices. The updated version will be posted on the website with a revised "Last updated" date, and where required by law Cozey will provide additional notice.
If you are located in Australia, or if Australian privacy law otherwise applies to our handling of your personal information, this Privacy Policy is intended to operate in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
