Cozey Sofa Reviews: What Customers Love, Common Complaints & What We've Improved

Are Cozey sofas worth buying? What do real customers think, and how has Cozey responded to negative reviews?

Updated October 22, 202618-min ReadFred Aubé, CEO
A couple sitting in their living room

These are fair questions to ask before making an investment in furniture.

At Cozey, we believe what makes our sofas special isn't one feature. It's the combination of comfort, elevated yet approachable design, modularity, convenient assembly, practical functionality, removable and washable covers, and excellent value for the quality we provide.

We want customers to feel they don't have to choose between a beautiful sofa, a comfortable sofa, and a practical sofa.

But we also know there have been a couple of bumps along the way.

Customers have raised concerns about fabric pilling, cushion flattening, and delivery delays.

Some of those concerns relate to earlier versions of our products. Others are areas we're still working to perfect.

We read that feedback, and we take it seriously.

This article looks at the positive and negative experiences customers have shared, explains the changes we've made since 2023, and provides an honest picture of what customers can expect from Cozey today.

What Do Customers Love Most About Cozey Sofas?

The most compelling thing about Cozey isn't necessarily one individual feature. It's how many aspects of the furniture ownership experience we've worked to improve.

Comfort for Different Preferences

Comfort is one of the most common themes in positive feedback.

We design several distinct seating experiences rather than assuming every customer wants the same kind of sofa.

  • Ciello and Gaia provide our softest, most cloud-like seating, with loose foam-and-fiber cushions.
  • Atmosphere offers a medium-firm, balanced feel that works particularly well for customers who switch between upright sitting and lounging.
  • Cassini offers more structured, compact seating, while Orian combines a firm seat with a soft, fiber-filled back pillow.
  • Neptune is our firmest collection, with an upright seating position and optional headrests for additional support.

One thing we've noticed in our physical stores is how often customers are surprised by Atmosphere's comfort. Its appearance doesn't always communicate the balance of cushioning and support people experience when they sit on it.

Comfort is personal, which is why we offer different options rather than claiming one collection is universally the most comfortable.

In fact, fewer than 1% of Cozey orders are returned because customers find the firmness or comfort unsuitable.

That isn't a satisfaction survey or proof that everyone loves their sofa. But it's an encouraging indicator that comfort-related dissatisfaction results in relatively few returns.

Elevated Design That Fits Real Homes

We want our furniture to feel thoughtfully designed and visually elevated without being intimidating or impractical.

That means offering different aesthetics, from Ciello's relaxed, cloud-like appearance and Gaia's tailored French seams to Cassini's curved silhouette and Atmosphere's modern modular design.

We also develop different armrest, backrest, fabric, and color options so customers can find furniture that reflects their personal style.

Modularity That Makes Life Easier

Many customers appreciate being able to assemble, disassemble, move, and reconfigure their sofas.

An independent Reddit review of an older Cozey sofa, published in January 2024, described modularity as one of the owner's favorite features. After moving twice, the owner especially appreciated being able to transport the sofa in separate pieces.

That same review criticized fabric pilling, which we'll address later.

Read the independent owner review on Reddit

Modularity is useful long after the first delivery.

Customers can add compatible modules as their needs change, reconfigure a sectional for another room, or replace individual components instead of replacing an entire sofa.

Practical Features Without Sacrificing Design

Our sofas are designed for everyday life.

Depending on the collection and configuration, customers can choose storage modules, sleeper functionality, different backrest options, and ottomans for more relaxed lounging.

Our removable, machine-washable covers also make maintenance easier, although cover removability varies by collection.

Ciello, Gaia, Atmosphere, and Cassini offer fully removable fabric covers. Neptune and Orian have removable cushion covers but fixed arm and base upholstery.

Customers can also purchase compatible replacement covers, giving them an opportunity to refresh the appearance of their furniture over time.

We believe combining these practical features with comfort and design is what creates compelling value.

What Do Independent Customer Reviews Say?

External reviews reflect a mix of experiences, and we think customers deserve to see both sides.

As of October 2026, Cozey's Canadian Trustpilot profile displays a rating of approximately 4.1 out of 5, based on more than 3,600 reviews.

Positive feedback frequently describes comfortable furniture, attractive designs, straightforward assembly, and helpful employees.

Critical reviews discuss delivery delays, limited tracking visibility, incorrect or missing components, assembly difficulties, and the time required to resolve certain problems.

Long-term owner discussions on Reddit provide another useful perspective. Some customers particularly value modularity and convenience, while others raise concerns about fabric wear, cushion maintenance, and changing comfort over time.

These reviews represent individual experiences, not a statistically representative sample of all Cozey customers.

Nevertheless, they highlight important issues worth addressing directly.

Do Cozey Sofa Cushions Flatten Over Time?

Summary: Ciello and Gaia's loose foam-and-fiber cushions need fluffing approximately every one to two weeks; Cozey upgraded foam from D28 to D35 in 2023 and added a 1.5-inch D35 base layer and anti-slip fabric in 2026.

Some customers have reported that their cushions gradually lose their shape, require frequent fluffing, or feel less comfortable after extended use.

Understanding the difference between our cushion constructions is important.

Ciello and Gaia: Soft Cushions That Require Maintenance

Ciello and Gaia use loose foam-and-fiber cushions to create their signature plush, cloud-like feeling.

Because the filling isn't completely fixed in position, it naturally shifts and settles during use.

We recommend fluffing these cushions approximately every one to two weeks and redistributing their filling to maintain a consistent appearance and feel.

This is a normal part of owning a loose-cushion sofa.

However, we also recognize that excessive flattening or feeling the underlying sofa structure isn't the experience customers expect.

What We've Improved in Ciello and Gaia Cushioning

In 2023, we upgraded relevant foam components from D28 to D35 to improve comfort and long-term cushioning performance.

In 2026, we also introduced an additional 1.5-inch layer of D35 foam within the Ciello and Gaia base construction.

This improvement was partly driven by feedback from customers who could feel the wooden frame beneath their cushions.

The additional foam provides more cushioning between the seat and the underlying structure.

What About Ciello Cushions Sliding Forward?

Some earlier Ciello customers also experienced seat cushions shifting forward during regular use.

In mid-2026, we introduced anti-slip fabric on the top of the Ciello base upholstery to help keep cushions in place.

This is separate from flattening and addresses a different aspect of the ownership experience.

What We're Still Improving in Cushion Care Education

We believe one of our biggest opportunities is better education.

Ciello and Gaia are intentionally designed for a soft, relaxed experience, and that comes with more cushion maintenance than our structured collections.

We're improving our online care instructions and training our store and Customer Happiness ambassadors to communicate those expectations more clearly.

For customers who want very little cushion fluffing, Atmosphere, Cassini, Neptune, or Orian may be a better fit.

Do Cozey Fabrics Pill or Wear Prematurely?

Fabric pilling is another concern that appears in older Cozey reviews.

Some of our original fabrics developed more visible pilling than we wanted, and customers understandably found this frustrating.

We acknowledge those experiences.

What Changed With Cozey Fabrics in 2024?

In 2024, we discontinued earlier fabrics associated with excessive pilling and strengthened our fabric selection and testing approach.

Since those changes, complaints about premature pilling and fabric wear have become relatively rare and have continued to decline.

We don't want to suggest that pilling has disappeared entirely.

Pilling is a natural textile phenomenon that can occur through friction, and some fabrics are more susceptible than others.

However, our objective is to make it less frequent and less noticeable than with our earlier fabrics.

Which Cozey Fabrics Perform Best?

Our current fabric collections have different strengths.

Aquaforte Velvet is our best overall indoor fabric, particularly for households with pets and children.

Its dense construction helps reduce claw snagging and pet-hair entrapment. It also offers excellent stain resistance, strong pilling resistance, and an abrasion-test result of 200,000 Martindale cycles.

Chenille is another strong option, particularly for customers who like a textured fabric that conceals pet hair and minor wear.

Aquaforte Regular offers excellent stain resistance but has a more open directional weave, making it less suitable for pets that scratch furniture or shed heavily.

Bouclé and Textured Weave are more vulnerable to snagging and visible pilling.

No fabric is perfect for every household, and abrasion resistance alone doesn't tell the whole story.

All our current fabrics are PFAS-free and OEKO-TEX certified.

We encourage customers to consider fabric texture, lifestyle, and maintenance requirements before choosing.

Are Cozey Sofas Too Low or Not Supportive Enough?

Some customers have told us that certain lower backrests didn't provide as much support as they wanted.

We've used that feedback to expand our options.

For Ciello and Ciello XL, we introduced high angled backrests that provide additional upper-back support while preserving the collections' soft, relaxed seating.

For Atmosphere, we developed higher rounded back options to offer a more supportive configuration.

Customers who prioritize firm, upright support may prefer Neptune with its optional headrests.

These different options matter because someone who primarily lounges may prefer a lower backrest, while someone who spends hours reading or sitting upright may want more support.

We want customers to choose according to how they actually use their sofa, rather than assume every configuration feels the same.

Is Cozey Sofa Assembly Easy?

Modular assembly is one of our most appreciated features, but some customers have encountered difficulties with connectors, alignment, or installing covers.

We've made several improvements to address those issues.

Atmosphere: Keeping Modules Together

Early Atmosphere customers sometimes reported that their modules moved apart because they weren't connected.

In 2025, we developed a new leg-based connector system to help keep modules together.

These connectors are now included with every Atmosphere order.

Ciello: Simplifying Assembly

We've also removed Ciello's side connectors to reduce unnecessary assembly friction.

Our new patent-pending leg-connector technology is part of our work to make modular furniture easier to secure without complicated connection systems.

Cassini: Improving Arm and Corner Connections

More recently, customers have reported difficulty connecting some Cassini arm and corner modules.

We're in the process of redesigning the base connector to make assembly easier.

In the meantime, we've already created additional instructional videos and trained our ambassadors to better assist customers through the process.

We don't want to pretend every sofa is effortless to assemble for every person. Module weight, configuration complexity, and installing fitted covers can affect the experience.

But we're committed to making assembly simpler as our products evolve.

What Happens When a Cozey Order Arrives With Missing or Incorrect Parts?

Receiving the wrong component can turn an exciting delivery into a frustrating experience.

We've heard feedback from customers who received incorrect arms, missing modules, or replacement components that didn't match their order.

These are genuine problems, and we've invested in preventing them.

Warehouse Picking Errors Have Fallen by More Than 85%

In mid-2026, we introduced warehouse barcode scanning to improve the accuracy of order fulfillment.

We also intensified manufacturing quality checks at our production sites.

Our warehouse picking error rate fell from approximately 1% of orders in early 2026 to less than 0.15% by October 2026.

That's a reduction of more than 85%.

The metric specifically measures warehouse picking errors, not all manufacturing defects, shipping losses, or delivery issues.

Errors can still occur, but the improvement is meaningful.

When a customer receives an incorrect or damaged component, our responsibility is to investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.

Is Cozey Delivery Reliable?

Summary: On-time delivery against checkout estimates has risen from approximately 90% in 2024 to approximately 97% in 2026 year-to-date, while split deliveries and changing estimates remain areas of focus.

Delivery is one of the areas where we've made substantial progress—and where we know customers still encounter frustration.

Our on-time performance against delivery estimates provided at checkout has improved:

PeriodOrders delivered within the estimated timeframe
2024Approximately 90%
2025Approximately 94%
2026 year-to-dateApproximately 97%

We've improved inventory forecasting, supply planning, fulfillment operations, and carrier coordination.

But those improvements don't eliminate every problem.

Why Do Some Cozey Orders Arrive in Separate Deliveries?

Our sofas arrive in multiple boxes, typically averaging four to five boxes per order.

Approximately 20% of orders experience split deliveries.

That means individual packages may arrive at different times, even when they belong to the same order.

Most remaining packages arrive the same or following business day, although some can take two or three additional days.

We work with third-party carriers for final-mile delivery, and we don't control every aspect of their operations.

However, we recognize that customers ordered their furniture from Cozey, not from our carriers.

Helping resolve delivery problems remains our responsibility.

Why Can Cozey Delivery Estimates Change?

Inventory availability, shipment movements, and carrier circumstances can sometimes affect estimated delivery dates.

We know customers need better visibility when this happens.

We're investing in dynamic delivery estimates, stronger technology integrations with carriers, and improvements to our customer portal.

The objective is to make it easier to understand an order's status, see the estimated delivery timing of individual packages and receive meaningful notifications when something changes.

Importantly, some of these improvements remain in development.

We want to avoid sending frequent notifications based on incomplete or unreliable information.

Our priority is making delivery updates accurate and useful, not simply increasing the number of messages customers receive.

Has Cozey Improved Its Customer Support?

Summary: Cozey now offers 24/7 human ambassador coverage, AI support that resolves approximately 35–40% of inquiries, and a dedicated product claims team for complex issues.

Yes, although we recognize that complex issues don't always get resolved as quickly as customers would like.

We've made several important investments.

24/7 Human Ambassador Coverage

We've expanded human ambassador coverage across email, chat, and phone to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We believe customers should always have the option to speak with a person when they need assistance.

Better Product Knowledge

We've invested in our internal product knowledge base to help ambassadors and AI systems provide more accurate, consistent information.

This is particularly important for modular furniture, where different collections, configurations, and product generations may require different guidance.

AI for Faster Answers, Humans for Complex Problems

Our AI support systems now resolve approximately 35–40% of customer inquiries.

This helps customers receive faster answers to straightforward questions and allows our ambassadors to spend more time addressing complicated situations.

We don't want AI to become a barrier between customers and human assistance.

A Dedicated Product Claims Team

We've also created a specialized product claims team to investigate more complex issues.

The team considers photos, videos, product age, usage, and maintenance history when assessing a reported problem.

Some issues are manufacturing defects. Others relate to normal wear, maintenance, or accidental damage.

Not every situation fits neatly into one category.

That's why we've given our team flexibility to offer replacements or alternative goodwill solutions when appropriate, even if a situation doesn't clearly qualify under the standard warranty.

We invest in ambassadors who demonstrate good judgment and empathy because the right resolution isn't always the fastest or simplest answer.

Sometimes a thorough investigation takes longer. Our next challenge is to maintain that quality of resolution while reducing the time customers spend waiting.

What Do Our Customer Happiness Ratings Show?

In 2026, our Customer Happiness interaction satisfaction score has been approximately 93%.

This measures customers' satisfaction with support interactions—not overall product satisfaction.

It's encouraging, but our internal goal is 98%, and we know there's room for improvement.

Do Customers Come Back to Cozey?

One of the most encouraging indicators we track is repeat purchasing.

Today, more than 50% of Cozey orders come from returning customers.

Revenue generated by repeat purchasers has also recently grown approximately eight times faster than Cozey's overall revenue.

For a furniture company, where customers don't typically make purchases every few weeks, we find that meaningful.

Returning customers purchase a wide variety of products.

Some expand their existing sofas with new modules or change the appearance of their furniture with replacement covers.

Others add complementary furniture to the same room or choose Cozey products when furnishing other spaces in their homes.

We believe that growing repeat business reflects the appeal of combining design, comfort, adaptability, convenience, and value.

Of course, repeat purchasing isn't a perfect measure of satisfaction, and it doesn't mean every customer has a positive experience.

But it's an encouraging sign that many customers continue choosing Cozey as their homes and needs evolve.

What Does Cozey Still Need to Improve?

We've made substantial progress, but three areas remain priorities.

Shipping and Split Deliveries

Third-party delivery networks introduce variability we don't fully control.

Our focus is improving coordination, tracking visibility, and resolution when shipments arrive separately or experience delays.

More Accurate Delivery Communication

We need to provide clearer, more dependable delivery windows and better information when expectations change.

That requires stronger underlying data, carrier integrations, and customer-facing technology.

Faster Resolution of Product Issues

Our dedicated claims team helps us investigate problems more thoroughly and address root causes.

But complex investigations can take time.

We want to shorten resolution times without sacrificing the quality of the outcome.

We don't believe customers should have to choose between getting a quick answer and getting the right answer.

Are Older Negative Cozey Reviews Still Relevant?

Yes—but the date, collection, and product version matter.

A review from 2022 or 2023 may describe an earlier cushion construction, a fabric we no longer offer, or an assembly system we've since improved.

For example:

  • In 2023, we upgraded relevant foam components from D28 to D35.
  • In 2024, we discontinued problematic earlier fabrics.
  • In 2025, we introduced new connectors for Atmosphere.
  • In 2026, we added further base cushioning and anti-slip fabric improvements, simplified Ciello assembly, and strengthened warehouse quality controls.

These changes don't invalidate what earlier customers experienced.

Their feedback helped us identify where we needed to improve.

At the same time, older reviews don't always describe the product a customer would receive today.

We recommend checking which collection, fabric, and purchase date a review refers to, then comparing that information with the current product specifications.

Recent complaints should also be taken seriously. We continue to learn from them.

Should You Buy a Cozey Sofa?

We believe Cozey is an especially good choice for customers looking for a combination of elevated design, comfort, modular flexibility, everyday practicality, and strong value.

Our sofas are well suited to people who move, rearrange their living spaces, appreciate washable or replaceable covers, or want the flexibility to expand their furniture over time.

But there are considerations worth understanding before buying.

  • If you want very plush seating and are comfortable with regular cushion maintenance, Ciello or Gaia may be ideal.
  • If you prefer a more consistent, lower-maintenance seating feel, Atmosphere or Cassini may be a better fit.
  • If you want firmer, upright seating and a convertible bed, consider Neptune.
  • If you want a firm seat, softer back pillows and a queen-size sleeper configuration, consider Orian.

And if you have pets, fabric selection matters. Aquaforte Velvet is our strongest overall recommendation, while some more open or looped fabrics can trap hair or snag more easily.

We encourage customers to visit a Cozey store where practical or book a personalized design consultation to understand which configuration best matches their lifestyle.

Our Commitment: Keep Improving Every Part of the Experience

At Cozey, we're proud of the furniture we create.

We believe our greatest strength is bringing together qualities that customers often have to compromise on: comfort, design, functionality, modularity, convenience, and value.

But we also know creating a great sofa isn't enough.

The delivery experience matters. Assembly matters. Product maintenance matters. And how we respond when something goes wrong matters just as much.

Customer reviews—both positive and negative—help us understand where we're succeeding and where we need to do better.

We've made significant changes over the past few years, from upgraded foam and fabrics to better connectors, barcode-verified fulfillment, and more specialized customer support.

We're also continuing to invest in more accurate delivery communication and faster product-issue resolution.

We don't expect every customer to have exactly the same preferences or experience.

But we do want every customer to know that we're listening, learning, and working to improve.

Because our goal isn't just to sell a comfortable, beautiful sofa. It's to create a better furniture ownership experience—and keep making it better over time.
