Frequently asked questions
Most Cozey sofas take about 20 to 30 minutes per seat to assemble, so the total time depends on how many seats you have. No tools are needed for our sofas: everything you need is packed in your boxes. The Ara Bed's main frame also goes together without tools. Two people make it easier and faster, especially when fitting the covers, which are cut to fit snugly.
Your printed guide is packed in your boxes, and most guides include a QR code on their first pages that opens the assembly video. You can also download every guide here by selecting your product above, and find every video in our YouTube assembly playlist. Each guide covers every configuration in the collection, so you'll see steps and boxes that don't apply to you. Simply skip the ones that don't match what you ordered.
Yes, that's best. About 1 in 5 Cozey orders arrives in more than one delivery, and the rest usually comes within 1 to 3 business days. Check Track My Order to see what's still on the way. If you'd like to start, open every box first, then build what you have but leave the final arm or corner backrest off at that end, so nothing has to come apart later. If a box still hasn't arrived after 3 to 4 business days, contact us and we'll ship a replacement at no charge if the carrier can't find it.
The box numbers in your guide are box types, not a count of the boxes in your order, so a gap in the numbering is usually normal. Your tracking information shows how many packages to expect. For the Ara Bed, you always get two box #1 cartons, which together hold the four steel frame quadrants. Storage beds don't use boxes #3 and #4: the storage front panel is box #7, and the four drawers form the sides. A Ciello seat base or storage ottoman box marked Gaia is also normal, since they share the same parts.
They're often packed inside a piece, so open every box and compartment before reporting anything missing. Ciello hardware is inside the seats and backrests, under the cushion inserts. Atmosphere legs are inside each seat base, and Cassini hardware is in the zipper compartment under each seat base. Neptune and Orian legs ship in the backrest boxes, with arm legs in a zipper compartment under the arms. Gaia brackets and screws are in the cover bags, and Ara Bed legs are in box #2 with the covers and printed guide.
Cozey sofas join with metal slide connectors that fit snugly, so a little resistance is normal, but force isn't. Lift the piece, angle it slightly so the top of the connector enters first, line up both connectors at once, then push straight down. If only one side drops in, lift it out and start again. Order matters too: on Ciello and Atmosphere corners, install the right corner backrest first, and always build Orian from the left. Check that every rubber and velcro protector is removed and that left and right pieces aren't mixed up.
Yes. Every module is a separate piece so you can rearrange your sofa, which means a small gap between modules is normal. Module connectors under the legs keep modules from sliding apart, especially on hardwood floors, but they don't close the gap completely. If your floor is uneven and the legs won't line up with the connectors, you can leave the connectors out. Atmosphere sofas delivered before mid-2025 came without module connectors.
Cozey covers are cut to fit snugly so they stay smooth and sturdy, which also makes them the trickiest part of assembly. Check that the cover label matches the module label, since a regular cover won't fit an XL module. Remove the velcro protectors, start where the guide says, line up the seams with the frame edges, then press the velcro last. It's much easier with two people. Vacuum-packed cushions can take up to two weeks to reach full size, and if a zipper breaks, send us a photo for a replacement cover.
Work backward through your assembly guide. Remove the cushions, then lift each module off the connectors under its legs. To free a piece, grab it low near the connectors and use short, quick movements at different angles; with two people, one pulls up while the other presses down on the piece next to it. On corners, remove the piece you installed last first. Don't pry with tools, which can bend a connector or crack the frame. If a part breaks, send us a photo and we'll replace it.
Yes, with full modules from the same collection and version. Pieces are sold as full modules, and any module connectors you need come in the new module's box. Regular and XL modules don't connect to each other. On Ciello, V connectors on the side of a seat mean Ciello 3.0, while no side connectors mean Ciello 4.0, and the two versions don't connect. Neptune and Orian always need an arm at each end. Not sure which you have? Send us your order number and we'll confirm.
Yes. White glove delivery with assembly can be added at checkout where it's offered for your address; it can't be added after purchase. If you've already ordered, we recommend booking a tasker on TaskRabbit, or Airtasker in Australia. The same services can also help take your sofa apart when you move.
Yes, keep your original boxes. Modules can be returned one at a time within 30 days of delivery, and returns are free when the pieces go back in their original boxes. Without them, a fee of 15% of the order value may apply, or the return may be declined. If you're moving instead, take the sofa apart into its modules and shrink wrap each one to protect it.
