Who should choose Atmosphere Regular, Storage or Sleeper?
Atmosphere is for customers who want a medium-firm, structured modular sofa with unusually flexible functions. Select Regular for everyday seating, Storage for concealed storage, or Sleeper to create a guest bed; the actual sleeper module itself does not contain storage. Unlike the loose-fibre cushions in Ciello and Gaia, Atmosphere’s layered-foam seats need little routine fluffing. You can also customize square or rounded back-and-arm styling and use removable, interchangeable covers to change the look later.
Does Atmosphere feel firm or soft, and what changes with its rounded backrest?
Atmosphere Regular and Storage seats provide medium-firm, structured layered-foam seating that holds its shape with less routine fluffing than Ciello or Gaia’s loose-fibre cloud cushions. Its Sleeper seat uses a separate, softer sleeping construction with approximately 8 in (20 cm) of foam and extends closer to the floor. Back and arm selections also affect seating geometry, but those variations are covered separately in the dedicated square-versus-rounded-back question. Choose by your preferred daytime firmness and whether you need actual guest-bed functionality.
Atmosphere vs Ciello: which is firmer, easier to maintain and better for storage?
Atmosphere is the firmer and more structured choice, with layered-foam seating that needs less fluffing and optional Storage or Sleeper modules. Ciello is the softer, cloud-style sofa: its loose synthetic-fibre cushions benefit from weekly or biweekly fluffing, and storage comes through its storage ottoman rather than a standard seat. Both have removable, washable covers, but Atmosphere offers distinct square/rounded backs and dedicated functional seat types. Compare the complete footprint in the configurator because arm styles alter width.
Are Atmosphere covers washable even on the arms and storage modules?
Yes. Atmosphere is designed with fully removable, washable and interchangeable upholstery across eligible seat, arm and back components, including compatible Storage and Sleeper configurations. That makes it easier to clean a spill that reaches the base or arms, not just the seat cushion. When choosing upholstery for pets or children, compare current stain-repellent and textured fabrics, order swatches, and follow the material-specific care instructions. No fabric is completely scratch-proof, and removable upholstery still requires proper handling and reinstallation.
Can I change the colour or replace all the covers on my Atmosphere sofa later?
Yes. Atmosphere’s upholstered covers are removable and interchangeable on compatible modules, including the arms and base, so you can refresh a room without replacing the entire sofa. Compatible replacement upholstery is available by module and fabric, subject to current assortment and long-term compatibility. The cover system uses carefully positioned hook-and-loop fasteners to help secure the upholstery. Replacing an older cover with a new one may reveal slight shade differences from sunlight and natural fabric ageing; check current colours and compatibility before ordering.
How durable are Atmosphere’s layered-foam seats, mechanisms and replacement parts?
Atmosphere uses structured layered-foam seating, a reinforced wood frame and modular parts designed for long-term everyday use. Regular and Storage seats have different functions from Sleeper seats, whose moving components are tested through thousands of opening/closing cycles. Covers and compatible modules can be replaced separately, subject to availability; Customer Happiness can help with unusual replacement requests. A five-year limited warranty covers qualifying manufacturing defects. Avoid treating estimated 20-year frame or 7–10-year cushion expectations as a guaranteed service life.
What is the difference between Atmosphere Regular, Storage and Sleeper seats?
Atmosphere offers three distinct seat functions. Regular provides medium-firm everyday seating. Storage opens to reveal a compartment of approximately 79.4 L in the listed storage-seat configuration. Sleeper converts to an extended sleeping surface but has no built-in storage inside the sleeper seat. The Sleeper uses its own sleep-focused cushioning and mechanism; do not describe it as mechanically or comfort-identical to Regular seating. For a guest bed, compare the deployed dimensions and allow space to open it fully; Atmosphere’s bed sizes are generally non-standard.
How wide is Atmosphere with square arms, round arms or no arms?
Atmosphere’s arm choice changes the sofa’s overall footprint. In the listed two-seat configurations, square high/regular arms are approximately 206 cm (81.1 in) wide, rounded arms about 196 cm (77.25 in), and an armless layout about 150 cm (59 in). A listed three-seater with square arms is about 281 cm (110.6 in) wide. Round arms are slimmer and alter the silhouette; arm/back style also affects usable lounging depth. Can I combine different Atmosphere seat types and change the configuration later?
Atmosphere is modular, with Regular, Storage and Sleeper options as well as compatible corners, ottomans, plateaus, arms and back styles. You can purchase compatible pieces to expand the sofa or change its layout, and armless or one-arm designs are possible. The functionality of each section matters: a Sleeper module does not become a Storage module, and not every combination is automatically available. Use the configurator or ask Cozey to verify the specific mix, especially when a planned arrangement includes a sleeper bed.
What is the difference between an Atmosphere ottoman, storage ottoman and plateau?
Atmosphere offers ottoman options for lounging and storage plus a distinctive rectangular plateau for attached chaise-like arrangements. A regular ottoman serves as a movable footrest; a Storage version includes a hidden compartment. The plateau is a low rectangular extension that can sit in front of a seat or connect in compatible configurations, but it is not itself a storage or sleeper module. The listed plateau measures about 103 × 51 × 44.5 cm. Select based on whether you need concealed storage, a movable footrest or a longer lounging surface.
Can Atmosphere make a left-, right- or double-chaise sectional?
Yes. Atmosphere can create chaise-style arrangements using compatible plateau ottoman configurations rather than a single permanent chaise seat. Depending on the chosen arrangement, the lounging extension can be on the left, right or both sides. Left and right refer to the sofa as viewed from the front. Seat depth and extended lounging length also depend on whether you choose square or rounded backs. Confirm the available plateau, connector and arm combinations in the configurator before ordering.
