These are our internal qualitative rankings, not laboratory firmness measurements. Individual preferences and body types can affect how each sofa feels.

Orian has our second-firmest seat but our second-softest backrest. That's because its seat uses a firmer foam construction, while its loose, fibre-filled back pillows provide a softer place to lean.

There are two different ways to think about nap comfort.

Best Cozey Sofas for Soft, Relaxed Naps

Ciello XL and Gaia XL are our first recommendations.

Their deep seats and plush foam-and-fibre construction are well suited to curling up or stretching out casually without converting the sofa into a bed.

Atmosphere is another good option for customers who prefer a little more support.

Best Cozey Sofa-Beds for Stretching Out Fully

If you want the largest dedicated sleeping surface, Orian and Neptune are our strongest recommendations when extended into their sofa-bed configurations.

• Orian's two-seater configuration, about 185 cm wide, converts into a queen bed.
• Neptune's three-seater configuration, about 228 cm wide, converts into a double (full) bed.

Do Cozey Sofas Get Softer Over Time?

Summary: Yes, but the degree of change depends on the cushion construction. Ciello and Gaia's loose cushions may gradually soften as they break in, while our layered-foam seats are designed to maintain a more consistent feel.

Ciello and Gaia: A Gradual Break-In Period

Ciello and Gaia use loose foam-and-fibre cushions.

These cushions may feel somewhat firmer when new, gradually becoming softer and more relaxed as the filling settles with normal use.

This break-in process is part of the character of their plush construction.

Because the fill is loose, regular maintenance is also important.

We recommend fluffing the cushions approximately every one to two weeks and redistributing the fill to maintain a consistent appearance and feel.

Atmosphere, Cassini, Orian and Neptune: More Consistent Cushioning

These collections use layered-foam seat construction.

Their seating feel is designed to remain relatively stable over time, without the same gradual settling associated with loose foam-and-fibre cushions.

Orian's loose back pillows may still need occasional fluffing.

Every upholstered product experiences some normal wear, and long-term comfort depends on usage and maintenance. But customers should not expect layered-foam seating to change in the same way as Ciello or Gaia.

Foam density and firmness are not interchangeable: higher density doesn't automatically mean a firmer sitting experience.

Loose foam-and-fibre cushions create a different feel from structured, layered-foam seats.

Neither is universally better. They suit different preferences and have different maintenance requirements.

Seat Angle

A seat's inclination affects the way someone settles into a sofa and how naturally they adopt an upright or relaxed position.

Rather than using one comfort formula across our entire lineup, we develop distinctive seating experiences for each collection.

How We've Improved Comfort Based on Customer Feedback

Our sofas have evolved as we've learned from customers.

In 2023, we upgraded relevant foam components from D28 to D35 density to improve cushioning performance and durability while maintaining the intended comfort experience.

In 2026, we introduced an additional D35 foam layer of about 4 cm in the Ciello/Gaia base construction.

One reason for this change was feedback from customers who could feel the underlying wooden frame when sitting on earlier versions.

The added layer provides more cushioning between the seat and frame, improving comfort and long-term performance.

We also introduced higher backrest options for Ciello and Atmosphere after hearing from customers who wanted more substantial back support.

These improvements reflect an important principle: we don't consider a sofa finished simply because it has launched.

We continue to improve its construction and comfort based on how customers experience it in their homes.

That also means an older review may describe a product version that differs from what customers receive today.

What Do Customers Say About Cozey Sofa Comfort?

Comfort is subjective, and customers naturally have different preferences.

But we have encouraging evidence from both our return data and our physical stores.

Fewer than 1% of Cozey orders are returned because customers find the firmness or comfort unsuitable.

This figure measures orders returned for those reasons. It isn't a direct measurement of overall customer satisfaction, and it shouldn't be interpreted to mean that 99% of customers give our comfort a particular rating.

Still, it's a meaningful indicator of how frequently comfort causes customers to return a purchase.

Our expanding network of physical stores has also helped us better understand customer preferences.

One observation we've made is that Atmosphere frequently surprises customers when they sit on it.

Its relatively structured appearance doesn't always communicate the balance of softness and support that customers experience in person.
